Storyline

Berlatarkan bandar metropolitan Kuala Lumpur, SONGLAP mengikuti kisah dua adik-beradik – AM (Shaheizy Sam) dan AD (Syafie Naswip) yang melibatkan diri dalam sindiket penjualan bayi yang diuruskan oleh seorang wanita bergelar MAMA. filem yang diadaptasikan daripada novel Ombak Rindu ini mengisahkan tentang perjalanan cinta dua insan, Izzah dan Hariz dari dua dunia yang berbezadan mereka terpaksa menempuh pelbagai rintangan sebelum menemui kebahagiaan. Seorang pemuda, Hariz anak Datuk Sufiah, pemilik empayar perniagaan SUFIAH CEMERLANG telah mermbeli Izzah dari pemilik kelab tersebut untuk dijadikan perempuan simpanan, namun Izzah telah merayu Hariz supaya menikahinya untuk menghalalkan hubungan mereka.

Hariz setuju dengan syarat Izzah tidak menuntut sebarang hak sebagai isteri. namun selepas itu, hariz yang kasar dan panas baran telah jatuh cinta dengan Izzah yang penuh dengan kelembutan. hariz kemudian terpaksa menikahi Mila, kawan zaman persekolahannya setelah didesak oleh Datuk Sufiah dan Mila yang amat mencintainya. Semasa Hariz koma dihospital akibat kemalangan jalan raya, Datuk Sufiah telah menghalau Izzah keluar dari bungalow Hariz dan merampas telefon bimbit Izzah.

Setelah keluar dari hospital, Datuk Sufiah memberitahu Hariz yang Izzah telah menjalani hubungan dengan lelaki lain. Hariz yang marah telah memberitahu Izzah bahawa dia akan digantung tidak bertali semasa terserempak dengan Izzah di rumah pak Dollah, pemandu keluarga Datuk Sufiah. Izzah kemudian kembali ke kampungnya. Pak Dollah yang marah dengan Datuk Sufiah telah memecahkan rahsia bahawa hariz adalah anaknya yang telah diserahkan kepada suami Datuk Sufiah untuk dijadikan anak angkat serta memberitahu Hariz bahawa Izzah tidak bersalah. Hariz yang menyesal dan amat rindukan Izzah telah pergi ke kampung Izzah untuk memujuk supaya kembali kepangkuannya. Mila datang ke kampung Izzah dan menuntut cerai dari Hariz. Selama hampir dua tahun status janda yang disandang oleh Datin Ghairieyah sedikit pun tidak melemahkan dirinya untuk meneruskan empayar perniagaan peninggalan arwah suaminya Dato Mahfuz,dia semakin ghairah untuk memperluaskan empayer perniagaan dengan bantuan CAPT.(R)LOQMAN seorang bekas pegawai TLDM yang berpengalaman serta mendapat sokongan daripada CIK MELISA sebagai setiausaha kerjanya,ENCIK FAIZAL dan ENCIK HAIRIE penyelia di syarikatnya.Kehidupan seharian Datin Ghairieyah dan anak-anaknya bertambah terjamin dengan adanya seorang pegawal peribadi yang bernama BADRI atau lebih dikenali sebagai BOB. SUFIAN seorang ahli perniagaan,dia juga merupakan rakan karib arwah DATO MAHFUZ.SUFIAN sedaya upaya cuba untuk memikat DATIN GHAIRIEYAH demi kepentingan perniagaannya.

Akhirnya hubungan antara DATIN GHAIRIEYAH dengan SUFIAN semakin intim.Perbuatan dan sikap sufian yang licik tidak sedikit pun menimbulkan curiga dihati DATIN GHAIRIEYAH walaupun hakikatnya CAPT.(R)LOQMAN mula rasa curiga,dia cuba untuk menasihati DATIN GHAIRIEYAH supaya berwaspada tetapi nasihat dan pandangannya tidak diambil peduli oleh DATIN GHAIRIEYAH. DERUS LEE terbaca satu iklan mencari guru matematik untuk mengajar anak-anak DATIN GHAIRIEYAH yang menjanjikan habuan yang sungguh lumayan.DERUS LEE segera pulang kerumah memberitahu kepada rakan serumahnya ZACK yang masih menganggur.DERUS LEE agak terkilan kerana ZACK menolak cadangannya itu dengan alasan ia tidak akan di terima kerana tidak memenuhi syarat-syarat kelayakan yang dipinta.

DERUS LEE mencadangkan supaya ZACK menyamar sebagai lelaki berumur supaya diterima oleh DATIN GHAIRIEYAH dan akhirnya ZACK bersetuju. Dalam Perjalanan ke rumah DATIN GHAIRIEYAH di Pulau Langkawi,ZACK dan DERUS LEE telah cuba menyelamatkan DATIN GHAIRIEYAH dari diculik dari kumpulan H1N1.DATIN GHAIRIEYAH agak terpegun apabila menatap wajah ZACK yang saling tak tumpah seperti arwah suaminya, DATO MAHFUZ.DATIN GHAIRIEYAH mememperkenalkan dirinya,DERUS LEE segera mengeluarkan keratan iklan dan memperkenalkan ZACK sebagai guru matematik yang dicari oleh Datin.Datin rasa terhutang budi,ZACK diterima sebagai guru matematik. Kehadiran ZACK yang menyamar sebagai lelaki berumur membuatkan datin sering teringatkan arwah suaminya,dia mula tertarik pada ZACK.Pada masa yang sama,EMELIA juga ada menyimpan perasaan pada ZACK kerana ketampanan wajah ZACK yang asal.Hubungan antara Datin dan SUFIAN mula renggang,Datin kini lebih menumpukan perhatian terhadap ZACK.Ini membuatkan SUFIAN berasa rancangannya untuk membolot harta dan perniagaan Datin tidak kesampaian.

Dia mula merancang untuk menculik Datin.Dalam satu majlis hari jadi EMELIA,DATIN GHAIRIEYAH telah diculik oleh konco-konco H1N1 yang diketuai oleh SUFIAN.SUFIAN meminta wang tebusan sejumlah US100 juta kepada CAPT.(R) LOQMAN bagi membebaskan DATIN GHAIRIEYAH. ZACK,DERUS LEE dan pasukan Polis Diraja Malaysia telah berjaya membebaskan DATIN GHAIRIEYAH. SUFIAN dan konco-konconya dapat diberkas. Akhirnya ZACK terpaksa menjelaskan kedudukannya bahawa dia adalah seorang pegawai Polis cawangan siasatan jenayah Interpol yang sedang memburu SUFIAN yang mengetuai sendikit yang mengedar dadah dan senjata api yang terkenal di asia. SUFIAN gagal mempengaruhi DATO MAHFUZ kira-kira dua tahun lalu dan SUFIAN merancang untuk membunuh DATO MAHFUZ dengan meletupkan bot mewah, ini membuatkan pihak Polis tidak mengesyaki dia membunuh DATO MAHFUZ. SUFIAN mula mensasarkan Datin sebagai batu loncatannya.

Dia mula memperdaya FAIZAL dan HAIRIE bagi memenuhi cita-citanya,ternyata tindakannya berhasil. ZACK memberitahu Datin,dia sangat berterima kasih kepada seseorang yang telah memberikan segala maklumat tentang kegiatan SUFIAN. Orang tersebut adalah DATO MAHFUZ lalu ZACK menunjukkan arah seorang lelaki yang sedang berdiri dan itulah DATO MAHFUZ yang masih lagi hidup. Datin amat terkejut,dia segera berlari dan memeluk suaminya tersayang. Akhirnya DATIN GHAIRIEYAH sangat-sangat terhutang nyawa dan budi kepada ZACK yang telah menyelamatkan diri dan keluarganya dari terjebak di dalam sendikit penyeludupan. Dia dan anaknya EMELIA terpaksa akur dengan apa yang telah berlaku walaupun hati mereka terlalu sayang kepada ZACK namun terpaksa juga merelakan pemergian DSP ZAMREE (ZACK) menjalankan tugasnya demi negara Malaysia tercinta.

Plot

Millions of years before the Earth was formed, a group of beings called the Guardians of the Universe used the green essence of willpower to create an intergalactic police force called the Green Lantern Corps. They split the universe into 3,600 sectors, with one Green Lantern per sector. One such Green Lantern, Abin Sur (Temuera Morrison) of Sector 2814, defeated the fear-essence being Parallax (voiced by Clancy Brown) and imprisoned him in the Lost Sector on the ruined planet Ryut. However, in the present day, Parallax escapes from his prison. Six months later, after killing four Green Lanterns and destroying two planets, Parallax attacks Sector 2814 and mortally wounds Abin Sur, who escapes and crash-lands on Earth. The dying Abin Sur commands his ring to find a worthy successor on the planet.

Ferris Aircraft test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) is chosen by the ring and transported to the crash site, where Abin Sur appoints him a Green Lantern, by telling him to take the lantern and speak the oath. At home he says the oath of the Green Lanterns while under trance from the glow of the lantern. After he gets attacked while leaving a bar Jordan swings to punch one of his attackers, letting out a huge fist of green energy, afterwards Jordan is whisked away to the Green Lantern Corps home planet of Oa, where he meets and trains with Tomar-Re (voiced by Geoffrey Rush) and Kilowog (voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan). He encounters Corps leader Sinestro (Mark Strong), who is not pleased that a human—which is primitive compared to other species—has become a Green Lantern. With Sinestro seeing him as unfit and fearful, Jordan quits and returns to Earth, keeping the power ring and lantern.

Meanwhile, after being summoned by his father Senator Robert Hammond (Tim Robbins) to a secret government facility, scientist Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard) performs an autopsy on Abin Sur's body. A piece of Parallax inside the corpse inserts itself inside Hammond, mutating the scientist and giving him telepathy and telekinetic powers, at the cost of his sanity. After discovering that he was only chosen due to his father's influence, Hammond resentfully attempts to kill his father by telekinetically sabotaging his helicopter at a party. However, Jordan uses his ring to save the senator and the party guests—including his childhood sweetheart, Ferris manager and fellow test pilot Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), who later recognizes Jordan under the suit and mask. Shortly afterward, Jordan encounters Hammond, who succeeds in his second attempt to kill his father by burning him alive. Both Jordan and Hammond realize Parallax is on his way to Earth.

Back on Oa, the Guardians tell Sinestro that Parallax was once one of their own, until he desired to control the yellow essence of fear, only to become the embodiment of fear itself. Believing the only means to fight fear is by fear itself, Sinestro requests for the Guardians to forge a ring of the same yellow power, preparing to concede Earth's destruction to Parallax in order to protect Oa. However, Jordan appears and tells Sinestro not to use the yellow ring and for the Corps to help him protect his planet from Parallax's imminent invasion. They deny his request, but allow Jordan to return and protect his home planet.

Upon returning to Earth, Jordan saves Ferris from being injected with Parallax's essence by Hammond. Parallax then arrives, consuming Hector's life force for failing to kill Jordan, and then wreaking havoc on Coast City. Jordan lures Parallax away from Earth and toward the Sun, using the Sun's gravity to pull and disintegrate the entity. He loses consciousness after the battle, but is saved by Sinestro, Kilowog, and Tomar-Re. Later the entire Green Lantern Corps congratulates him for his bravery. Sinestro tells Jordan he now bears the responsibility of protecting his sector as a Green Lantern. Sometime later when he is alone, Sinestro, still in possession of the yellow ring, places it on his finger, causing his green suit to change to yellow along with his eyes.

Plot

A man, referred to in the movie only as "Man" (Adrien Brody), wakes up in a wrecked car in the bottom of a ravine, covered in blood and with a broken leg. A dead body is behind him. He then hallucinates about a woman finding him. After a few days in this position, he manages to escape the car and fashion a crude splint out of sticks, car parts, a seatbelt, and a belt off of the dead body. In the car, he finds several bags of money and a loaded revolver. Hearing on the car radio about an armed robbery by a man named Raymond Plazzy and finding a credit card in his pocket with Raymond's name on it, he assumes that he is Raymond (he is suffering from temporary amnesia) and that he committed the robbery. He crawls attempting to find a way out of the woods and eventually finds a dog and a bag, containing beef jerky, some cigarettes, a bottle of painkillers, and a cell phone (unable to work due to the location and heavy foliage.)He uses the items in the bag and the dog becomes his companion. Frequently hallucinating about the woman, he finally shoots her with the revolver after realizing the hallucination lead him back to the car. He then decides to get out of the ravine. After crawling for days, he eventually crawls out of the ravine and finds a road and a dead body with a driver's licence that says Raymond Plazzy. He then pieces together what happened to him: He was running errands with his wife (the Woman) when he witnessed an armed robbery. The head robber (the real Raymond) took the man, held him hostage at gunpoint, and drove off in a getaway car. Meanwhile, with a better cell signal, he calls for help. The man is then picked up by a forest ranger, and asks that the dog come with him, to which the park ranger answers, "There's no dog." He then puts on his seat belt, which flashes him back to when he was in the car with the robbers. What had happened was that he had put on his seat belt while the robbers had been arguing, and then he suddenly grabbed the wheel, causing the original car crash that landed them in the ravine. His memory was complete. After showing him with a blank look on his face for a few seconds, the movie abruptly ends.

Like every other commercial organization here too are employees and their designations. They too have field work, administration structure and skill-set, alongside they also have business rivalry; this is a company called Bhindi Baazaar Inc. Here their main trade is to pickpocket. 'Mamu' is a title of a local mafia-head of Bhindi Baazaar Incorporation, it is a position nobody even thinks to reach, leave aside attempting to be there. Years ago the reigning Mamu snatched it from someone and may be someone has to do the same to be the next, but you never know who it can be, just as you don't know who your enemy is in the game of Chess, a game where a mere pawn can cross the Chessboard and become a 'Vazir'.

The Film begins with a Game of Chess between 'Shroff' and 'Darzi', each move of which unfolds the story which leads to the motive of their meeting. The story unfolds as a quest of a small time pickpocket 'Fateh', next in line to be Mamu to travel that extra mile and get that position. His fascination with the position and power of name Mamu leads him and his small group of fellow pickpockets and his close friend Darzi through a trail of Betrayals, Revelations, Deceits and Vengeance... but no one gets there clean and though every pawn can be in the run, not every in the Chessboard is destined to be the Vazir. Sometimes the kingmakers use some pieces to reach the ultimate destination.

The conflict takes an ugly turn when the authoritatively regulated world of these small time crooks under Mamu is shaken by a decision of not involving his pickpocket gang for spreading a flu virus through syringes, so that the antidote which is worth crores is put in use, due to which the pharmaceutical company draws rich profits, which gives the rival 'Pandey' a chance to manipulate Fateh and use him to plan Mamu's murder. And then begins the streak of betrayals that involved everyone in that world shown through the game of chess and the people through the Chessboard pieces. Nobody in this saga of shady politics is clean, everyone comes out to be mean to their core and have their hidden motives. Every piece in a chessboard has its importance, but when a pawn crosses the whole board and becomes the Vazir it changes the whole structure. This is the story of a pawn and his travel to reach to the other end of the board. This story is of this pawn who manipulates every move so that his way to reach to the top is cleared. This story is about how these small time pickpocket use their intelligence and spontaneity to survive in this mean and political vicinity called Bhindi Baazaar Incorporation.

The Pawn who is sitting in front of Shroff, playing the game of Chess, reveals his quest to reach the position of Mamu, which only Shroff can assign. Shroff is the boss of all and he invites the pawn Darzi, the best friend of Fateh and supposedly the underdog for a game of Chess.
